This week, come with Maranatha’s One-Day Church crew into the Amazon jungle, where they must transport church materials by boat for hours. The Gospel is spreading easily here, but moving from place to place is difficult. Your kids will see what our crews endure to make it to some of the most remote locations to provide a place of worship. They’ll also consider the patience it takes when we have to wait to serve.

Have you ever had to do something hard or maybe even unenjoyable, but it was worth it? What was it? Why was going through that experience worth it in the end?
In the Bible, Joseph endured a lot of waiting in his life. He was sold as a slave, taken on a long journey to the land of Egypt, and even spent years in jail for a crime he didn’t do. Yet, Joseph knew that God had a plan for his life and trusted that God would use him in the end. Eventually, the pharaoh (king) of Egypt put Joseph in charge of the entire country and Joseph saved the entire land from years of famine. Like Joseph, sometimes we might not know exactly what God has in store for us, but how can we stay ready to serve even if it seems like we have to wait?
