This week, travel with our well-drilling crew in Kenya as they make a 30-day expedition to one of the most remote parts of the country: Ileret. It would be so far away from goods and services that they’d have to pack everything they needed—food, water, gasoline, equipment, supplies, etc. All of it had to be brought with them to make it to Ileret and back. See what it was like making the five-day drive from Maranatha’s headquarters near the capital city of Nairobi through the Chalbi Desert in 105 degree temperatures with no air conditioning. Watch as the crew overcomes unique challenges in finding water for the Daasanach tribe that calls this place home. And, despite the trying conditions, see how the team grew closer together and to God, leading to the baptism of six of Maranatha’s crew members. Your kids will see just how committed Maranatha’s team in Kenya is to the mission, and consider how they too can persevere through tough conditions with God’s help.

Did You Know?
- Even though they were tired and hot, the team faithfully held a morning and evening worship each day. These worships helped to eventually lead six crew members to decide to become baptized.
- Those team members were baptized in Lake Turkana, which is a large lake nearby. Even though it has a lot of water, it is salty and dirty, so the Daasanach people don’t drink it unless they have no other options.
