Miracles in the Middle of Nowhere
10-Feb-2022
This week, Maranatha’s crew in Kenya travels to “the middle of nowhere” to drill water wells for the Daasanach tribe. This place, called Ileret, is very far from modern civilization, so the team had to pack everything they’d need for a 30-day expedition into the bush. Once they completed the five day drive to Ileret, they would work to find water in a village named Elbogosh, home to 14-year old Nakuleya. Every day, Nakuleya walks 1.3 miles round trip to collect water in a deep hole of a dry riverbed. Some days though, she has to make the trip five times, for a total of 6.5 miles. Well-drilling experts used advanced methods of reporting, like fracture trace analysis, and determined there likely wouldn’t be any water at Elbogosh. But Maranatha’s crew decided to drill despite the discouraging report, in hopes of finding something for the people here. Your kids will watch God work two miracles at Elbogosh, and see how they can always trust God, no matter the odds.
