www.maranatha.org -- This week, we’ll meet Denis Silber, a second grade teacher in Stockton, California. Denis noticed that toward the end of the school year, sometimes his students at Clairmont Elementary would lose focus and start getting into trouble. He thought it would be great if they could focus their energies on trying to help others instead. Denis suggested that they raise money for Maranatha to build a school in Honduras, and the students and his fellow teachers bought in. They even started friendly competitions between classrooms to keep up their motivation. As your children watch this story, they’ll see how a group of kids can make a big difference when they work together, and consider how they might make a difference of their own.

Are there some friends, classmates, or neighbors you could invite to join you as you work to make a difference?

Did You Know?
- The school in Honduras that the kids raised money for is called Escuela Educativo Ideal Adventista - Choluteca. Maranatha built a large school building with numerous classrooms, as well as dozens of smaller classrooms, for a total of 42 classrooms! What’s more, 1,370 volunteers helped at this school as well.
