#GivingTuesday 2025 - Classrooms for Kenya
Each year, Maranatha participates in a global day of giving called “GivingTuesday.” This year it falls on December 2, and we’ll be focusing on bringing adequate infrastructure to the Kimogoro Adventist School in Kenya. For years this boarding school has been considered one of the top institutions in its part of western Kenya, but it was despite deplorable conditions.
The dorms were overcrowded, with gaps in the walls and leaky roofs. Classrooms were in similar shape. For years there was no water on campus, which had to be carried up the steep slopes by students each day. Meals were cooked in a cramped, smoky shed.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Kenya asked Maranatha to help Kimogoro. First a water well was drilled. Next came hundreds of volunteers, constructing new dorms, classrooms, a kitchen, cafeteria, and a church. Enrollment has jumped from 230 to 384 students. Now, Maranatha is working to finish the campus with six more classrooms, an admin building, a main gate, two gazebos and landscaping. But we need more funding for these projects. Without it, students are still stuck meeting in deplorable classrooms.
For #GivingTuesday 2025, we’re asking you to make a gift for Kimogoro. Thanks to a generous donor, your gift will be matched, doubling your donation! Help bring a better learning environment to students who have endured challenging conditions for far too long. Although #GivingTuesday is on December 2, please give today at maranatha.org/givingtuesday. Make a gift of any amount. $25, $250, $2,500. No amount is too small, and 100% goes to completing this campus where God is working to prepare a new generation of leaders. Once we hit our $250,000 goal, the campus will be fully funded. Thank you for your support!
